UPDATE. Seems to work OK now. But still no updates. Nice departure from other birding apps but many birds are missing and video & images are unavailable offline. And why does it keep reminding me that purchases are not allowed when I already paid for app? Still, no regrets.
This is just such a wonderful app. I now prefer this over any other bird ID application. The videos are much more helpful than photos alone and it’s full of useful information that makes birding and identification that much more enjoyable. The user interface is beautifully done. For me the most compelling reason to engage with FeatherFlix is the pure enjoyment of watching and listening to birds. That enjoyment engenders kinship with the natural world and the desire to go into nature and see actual birds. While videos are a helpful and entertaining 2D representation and a learning aid, there is nothing like the thrill of searching for and watching birds in their habitat. FeatherFlix helps us know names, where to look for each bird, and how to decode behaviors. It is a rare gift to those who choose to open it.
