I worked with Unity before and to say that this game is created with Unity, I am very impressed by the amount of work and effort to be put in this survival game. However the game lacks some creativity and excitement. The game is off to a good start, but the cycle of eating, sleeping, and getting food is getting a bit old. Even though those are necessities in the game, what I mean is that the game could add more interesting things such as mining, gardening, or exploring the ocean. Add more landscapes such as caves and more varieties of fruit and plants. When I travelled to one of the islands,I noticed that the only difference was the Rhinos. I was expecting new vegetation to be discovered or other discoveries. As for Bugs, the game is very buggy: the map is not really accurate at all and as traveling by boat has a realistic speed, it could move faster in the water. I also wish there were things you could see underwater, as what I expected the game offered due to the advertising. However, granted it’s made in Unity and the game is off the a good start, it’s not bad of a game, just wished before it was published that it had multiplayer. If multiplayer was made first, before all the additions to the game, I think players would be more satisfied and less distracted by the features the game lacks because they won’t be playing alone. I can’t wait to see these improvements!
I think this game is really fun... however, I think the water could use some more LIFE! You can’t see the fish you collect, there’s no seaweed and there’s the obvious glitch that the animals are unable to get in the water!! All I have to do to get some good meat is swim far enough out in the water and shoot an animal that chases me with some arrows. BOOM! Dinner easy. There should be predators in the water too. Maybe some sharks you could hunt? They could chase you just like the predators on land!! That would make it more interesting. The islands could also be more interesting... more interesting things to collect. Last if all... hurry up on that multiplayer!! I’ve been waiting for ages!!!!! The story about the whole collecting a precious mineral and sending people into random portals needs some work though. Seriously? It’s kind of random!! But overall I think survival island is pretty fun! My best friend and I enjoy playing it all night at sleepovers. It could use just a little more work to make it even more fun.
I have played quite a few survival games, and at first I thought I was really going to like this one for the nice graphics and crafting options. However, after just a few hours I gave up in frustration. Food sources are few and far between and there doesn’t seem to be anything you can plant and grow. The animals you are supposed to hunt NEVER stand still, even when you are “crouching,” and following them with the target cursor as they run around frantically is next to impossible. Plus, they are being hunted by other predators which are always delighted to turn on you if their intended prey runs off or gets caught. Between not being able to get enough food and being hunted by alligators that move unreasonably fast on land, all I seem to accomplish is dying, over and over. I don’t mind spending a little money here and there to get some achievements in a good game, but I want to be entertained, not frustrated. When you either add a renewable food source or make it a -little- easier to hunt the prey animals, I’ll be happy to try again. I’m playing on a 2017 iPad with plenty of memory and using a stable and fast home WiFi, so it shouldn’t be this difficult to get some food. Or perhaps add some traps to catch smaller animals or a means to capture and breed/slaughter them....
