Spotahome: Apartments & rooms

Lost money canceling a book partially for not being careful on the booking and partially for the confusing added fees and multiple links I had to read through to understand all the added fees and what a refund entailed. The landlords and spotahome charge LARGE fees that aren’t refundable. When I was trying to cancel I was barely getting a reply until I sent multiple messages through multiple venues BUT they were quick to reply to me when I was still trying to book on their app a different place. I found this to be distrustworthy of them. good luck!

Coming from the USA to Spain, I had a truly awful experience with this app renting a room in a shared apartment. Moving to a new country and not having the local knowledge of how things work is already really difficult and the people I rented from take advantage of this.In the first place, you cannot contact the landlord before getting approval for you stay, meaning you cannot ask important questions before you are committed. The ‘flexible’ cancellation policy was not at all flexible. In my case, this also meant I could not see the rental contract I would sign until I was literally at the apartment with my suitcases. The contract had some really ridiculous rules and I did not want to sign it but I found myself in a difficult situation when I learned I would get charged for the entire stay by spotahome and the fact that I had nowhere to go. I tried to bargain with the fact that the listing on the app also said the apartment came with several amenities such as a dishwasher, weekly cleaning service, etc. and different furniture than shown in the video which turned out not to be true YET I was charged the same price and my request to move out/relocate was denied.Booking on this app is a RISK and in my case it did not pay off. You never know what the landlord will be like. If you decide to book on this app, make sure to read the details very carefully, because you also have to search through the emails to find the actual price of your stay. I also recommend booking months in advance so you have the possibility to cancel and trying to see the contract and getting a feel for the landlord beforehand.

Awesome and easy to use service. Really good properties selected and checked by the company for a small amount of fee and peace for the mind Sometimes the description of the fees involved with the rental can be confusing. But they are extremely important in estimating the total cost and can become frustrating for the user. It is sometimes unclear how much the admin fee is from landlord, whether or not utilities are included and how much the landlord will cover. Also it’s hard to know admin fee unless someone tries to go through the checking availability process. Would also be nice to have utility estimates. The app sometimes seems to have small issues with displaying text, tapping on icon (like button and share button overlap and etc)z other than that, I
