Measuring Tape PRO

I downloaded the app because it was “free for a limited time” which would imply that typically there’s a cost to it. If that’s the case why would an ad pop up right in the middle of what I’m measuring, why is there an ad on a pay app in the 1st place. If it’s the free version, maybe you don’t advertise it as “free for a limited time” and don’t call it “Pro” just call it “Free”. What a bunch of crap. Next, the intro explains how to use the app for measurement, no matter how long of a measurement I make, it’s always 4.5”. I seem to be relegated to a world where everything is 4.5”. Like I said, don’t waste your time with this crap app, it’s a waste of memory space.

I agree with the many other reviews—the measurements aren’t at all accurate. The interface is hard to understand and the whole of the “help” function is just a promo video. But I have to ask why on EARTH are there ads in a paid app? Admittedly, I got the app free on a promo day, but it’s a “pro” version of a paid app. Yet each time I tried to measure something, it made me view an ad before it would show me my results. Which, of course, were wrong anyway. Deleted.

Now, I didn’t pay for the app because they had it for free for a limited time. I usually look for free apps of the day and this one came up. I usually need to make large measurements at work and when I saw this, I thought this would by my answer to my struggles because tape measures are usually only 25’ long and there are usually items in the way of measuring. After downloading the app I tested it on on small objects like a pencil, book, and my iPad. It performed ok; some measurements were slightly off. However, when I tried measuring larger items like my bed frame and dresser, well those values were all over the place. Unfortunately the results weren’t repeatable/consistent. It was off by 3 inches or so. It always came up short. I tested next to a tape measurer and my results weren’t accurate nor precise. It is a good idea but they definitely have some tweaking to do.
