To me, the point of a personal weather station is that it tells me something that my phone does not. The three channel remote weather station with barometer, in contrast, could not be set up without this app, which would NOT allow me to continue unless I gave it access to MY PHONE's location. General location of the station? OK, makes sense. Location of my phone for a CLEARLY chinese app? H*** no. The worst part of this app is the necessity of its existence, rather than having the buttons on the unit necessary to set it up without a phone.

I bought a home weather station that requires this app to be set up properly. The app requires you register your email. I tried but never got a confirming link from the company. I finally emailed them. They responded quickly and validated the email manually. This allowed me to get the weather station set up. Fortunately, I’m an IT professional. The set up instructions were written by someone who does not write English very well. Several times I couldn’t really understand what they were trying to say, so I had to do things that were not stated in the instructions. I finally got the thing working. I’d suggest that the manufacturer find a way to allow set up and Wi-Fi connection without using the app. It was far more difficult to get the thing set up than it needed to be.

I received this Digital WiFi forecaster as a Christmas gift from my employer, I didn’t know anything about it. In some ways I’m glad I didn’t pay for it and in other ways I wish I had, so I could return in for a refund. The setup is way too complicated and the operation of the device isn’t user friendly. The weather app that came with my iPhone is far more useful and took very little effort to set up. If you are interested in this product my recommendation is, do not buy it.
