NYC Bus Time App (MTA)

The Bus Time App is reliable but missing some very important features. Buses are generally on time but I can’t use this app only. I have to download a ton of other apps just to be able to see where I can transfer buses. There is no indication of transfer stops in this app. I would like to know what buses can I transfer to and what times those buses arrive without having to go through the confusing process of typing in each bus separately and then scrolling to find the stop and then time. Also, this is where a favorite feature would save time. This entire process is too much when you’re traveling and on-the-go.

I was unable to use the app at all, and complained; (yes, I tried deleting and reinstalling, probably 3 times). The developer replied to my complaint that I needed to update, which I did, and the app appears to be working again. Which begs the question: where was this update when I was trying to get the app to work??? So, I would normally give this app a higher rating, but I’m still pretty steamed that the update wasn’t available until I complained.

Frequently there are long waits for buses coming home. Parking at south beach park and ride allows only one option from battery park, the SIM5. Although you advertise that it comes at 5:29, 5:37, 5:47 and 6:01. After waiting from 5:31 the bus arrives at the stop at 6:02. The New schedules were supposed to have increased frequency and better service, instead riders are left stranded with no other options. At least before we had the x4 and x8. It’s too frequent that buses don’t show up as your published schedule suggests. I rarely get home before 7:30 pm anymore. Before the changeover I would sometimes be at the park and ride by 6 pm. Not a Chance anymore. It’s very frustrating And interferes with Staten Island commuter quality of life, Takes a toll physically and emotionally draining. Please fix This system. Rush hour between 5-6 pm should have a bus every 10 minutes - not every 1/2 hour!
