Lidl Plus

The previous Lidl app showed the location of an item in the store when viewing its description but I am no longer seeing that. Maybe because it is before the 15th? I do have my local store set as my preferred location. I really liked this feature and hope it comes back in this app.

I can’t believe this app has 4.5 stars. I cannot imagine that rating is based on legitimate reviews. Not only was the launch of this app conducted horribly - there was a 15 day lag time between the old app shutting down and this one starting, and it simply hasn’t worked properly since launch - but the downgrade was immense and obvious. The new lidl rewards program is honestly insulting. We used to get rewards for every few $40 purchases (if i recall correctly) AND for every interval of $100 you spent within a month. They were great rewards too, a little random but always good. Now? You have to spend almost $260 to earn a THING OF ORANGE JUICE. And that’s with the new app launch “discount” on their points program, normally you’d NEED TO SPEND $519. I genuinely cannot fathom how we got here. I started shopping at lidl because you had comparable prices to Aldi, good coupons, and a solid bakery. Now I don’t see the point, and frankly will no longer be a return customer. Do better.

Unfortunately the Lidl Plus app is a downgrade in the US from the myLidl app. There was a lot of what seemed to be basic functionality that is missed or hidden behind multiple clicks to get to. Not having a search bar on the Home Screen is a big miss. For any item you’re looking at, any point should have the image of the product. You should also be able to see the original price and offer price. The digital leaflet is just too long for scrolling and not optimized for digital/mobile. You should also be able to add an item from the leaflet into your cart. Instead you need to leave the leaflet, search the item, add it to your cart, then go back. The functionality of having the aisles a product is also a loss. Even if the location wasn’t always correct, it’s better than nothing.
