Plagiarism Checker

Other than the fact that you have to pay for checks I’d say it’s pretty decent. Although I would have given it a 5 star rating if it would allow you to use the app and to HAVE THE CHOICE to upgrade it.

I had downloaded this app in November. It worked great. I am a high school teacher, and used the app to quickly determine how much and what parts of student work was plagiarized. I found a lot too! Best part was it would show you website it was copied from. So it was super easy to prove it. The app used to be full of adds. I paid for the app (1.99 purchase) and continued to use it for months. There was a update and then all the sudden my account “disappeared”. I created a new one, and it had only 10 checks before it told me I had to pay for checks! I noticed there was a restore purchase button so I tried that and it told me could not verify. I contacted the developers and they gave me some BS of what I paid for was to remove ads. Not the app services. Now the app went from a great tool for every educator to have, to just like the rest of them where you have to purchase checks. Seems to me if you purchased an app, you should be grandfathered in. But not to them! It doesn’t matter. You paid, they want you to pay again and again and again. (Oh and guess what, there are no ads in the latest update. So I guess I really did waste the money and get screwed over.)

Plagiarism detection is becoming a "pay to check" enterprise. But here is an app that detected a known plagiarized paper that I had figured out sounded "wrong," and painstakingly pasted snippets into search engines to find the source. Can't turn in a student unless you're 100% sure--need the source. Don't care the app reported only 6% plagiarized--if a word here or there is changed, it's hard to track down. (I can do it, but spending the time just makes me cranky, less inclined to leniency.) So this app can find and tag source--saving my time & sanity, and perhaps the offender's grade, to some extent.
