I, like many other reviewers, grew up playing multitasking simulation games like Diner Dash. I have searched high and low for a similar game to come to mobile and none so far had the same feel. For one, they still were made with kids in mind, which I can understand. For two, the money grabbing antics of phone app games were ever-present. This game changes all that. You have a decent amount of energy to use so you can play levels, there’s NEVER any pressure or need to buy gems (!!!!!), the storyline is actually interesting and involves adult themes like grief, death, mental illness, addiction, etc. so it is stimulating instead of just “oh no big bad man wants my hospital, must stop”. Truly this game is incredible and very high quality. I purchased the energy packs in the game because I was having so much fun and because I really wanted to support the company. This is a game I would’ve not felt bad at all for paying $30 on PC for, so I don’t on mobile either, and it’s literally FREE if you don’t want to pay. Highly recommend!!! I’m 2/3 of the way through 5 starring all the levels while waiting for the newest ones to be released.
Now I (as many of the other reviewers) am a HUGE fan of gamehouse, I used to download all of their games on Bigfish as a kid and got really hooked. As an adult playing, a lot of the levels are a breeze and it doesn’t take me much time to finish any of the games with 3 stars each level. Now with the new design I liked how it was challenging. A lot of the levels I had to replay several times to get the full 5 stars I wanted each level, and with the time it took for the energy rebuild it would force me to put my phone down and focus on another task until a couple hours passed by. I did not pay anything to complete the game but it did take some time and patience. So what? It was frustrating at first to not have everything NOW but in the long run I liked how it took awhile to complete each level and unlock all of the upgrades. It was new from the regular easy game style that’s usually presented. Since I do have the Gamehouse App, it looks like a similar style is going to be applied to the new Parker&Lane game as well and I really can’t wait! The only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars is because I like selecting which upgrades I would like and we didn’t really have too much information on what upgrades were available, you would just have to see what was in the chest and go from there. Other than that, it was an awesome change from the regular gameplay and I really enjoyed the layout and the challenges 😁
Update - So, while I am still not a fan of this format, I can see where some may enjoy it. I think it may have gone over a bit better if you maybe debuted this new format with a new story. I feel there was quite a bit of hype leading up to the release of this game, but there was not much mentioned about the big format change, and for me, it was not a good surprise. While I cannot speak for anyone other than myself, I feel the faithful original story followers, continue to be faithful followers because we enjoy the quality time management games that Gamehouse has released. If this new format has been successful, maybe develop new stories with new characters and continue with the original format with the original characters and stories that are already out there.....that could make both sides happy! 😊 —————————————————- Original review - I wanted very much for the reviews I read to be wrong.....unfortunately, that is not the case. I have loved Gamehouse and all the Original Stories from the very first Emily release. I have paid for the full version of every single one and I am so very disappointed in the new format. There is no option to buy a full version (well, I guess you can pay a large amount of money to unlock everything) and you can only play if you have enough energy and then need to wait until your energy is replenished....really!?! I was actually very surprised and confused as to why these changes were made. Regardless of how good the game itself is, I will no longer support Gamehouse if this is the new format moving forward.
