LaserHIT

LaserHIT is an awesome training tool — accurate, easy to set up, and a lot of fun to use. It’s one of the best ways I’ve found to get meaningful practice in at home without burning through ammo, and the app runs smoothly with plenty of great features. The only drawback is the pricing model. To really unlock the system you have to pay a monthly fee for the Pro version, and it’s noticeably higher than what most apps charge. It would be nice if more came included with the base purchase instead of needing an ongoing subscription. Overall, though, LaserHIT delivers a great training experience. If you don’t mind the recurring cost, it’s hard to beat.

I recently purchased a Coolfire trainer for my daily carry S&W Shield and downloaded the LaserHIT app to track my time and hits on target. The app is fantastic and pairs very well with the Coolfire trainer with red laser. This setup allows me to train in my home, with my pistol using my sights and trigger, get realistic recoil, and practice techniques that would not be possible at a range such as drawing from a holster, double taps, rapid fire and reload drills. I went ahead and purchased the add-on packages and I’m glad I did. I really like how the app allows customization to set up a dry fire drill specific to my needs. LaserHIT tracks the red laser strikes perfectly and you can even save your session results to analyze later. You can specify the max hits registered, time limits, buzzer time for starting. This is going to make me a better shooter and I look forward to any new addition-one from LaserHIT. I don’t go to the range as often as I should but I thing this app will be an excellent supplement.

I’ve been police officer for 20 years, 7 of which I’ve been assigned as a firearms instructor. Firearms proficiency is a perishable skill, and how quickly that skill perishes is different for everyone. With a busy schedule, going to the range can be quite a challenge for the majority of people. Add the cost of ammo, and the importance of consistent dry practice is clear. Despite working as a firearms instructor and having access to ammunition, I find the LaserHIT system to be an incredible tool to maintain good fundamentals and gun handling. To date, I have over 3000 trigger pulls on LaserHIT. I am still using the original cartridge cap that I purchased, a testament to the quality of the product. The system is extremely effective in registering hits, and easy to setup. Practicing your sight alignment, trigger control, draw, reloads, target acquisition and more in the comfort of your own home is fantastic. LaserHIT’s customer service is exceptional, as any phone calls or emails I’ve made with questions were answered immediately. I can’t recommend it enough, and LaserHIT is an indispensable tool for new shooters as well as experienced ones. Be safe and train consistently.
