Galarm - Alarms and Reminders

Update #2: You say you don’t have any pending support cases from me, which is clearly untrue! We’ve corresponded 27 times (so far), the last being July 20 (with no reply from you) and this is still not resolved. Update 1: Downgraded to 1 star. Another Tuesday failure! Today, ALL of my alarms we're marked as "Acknowledged" and so NONE of them went off at their associated times. Support does not respond to paying customers. Was: I like this app, as the built-in iOS alarm feature is strangely, and very sadly missing important features. However, I've had recurring issues with "Weekday" alarms not going off. I have an alarm configured to wake me up at 7 AM every weekday morning. For 3 weeks in a row, the alarm did not go off on Tuesday mornings. The Galarm app was updated soon after the third occurrence, and the following week, the alarm did not go off on the Thursday morning. On all of these occasions the phone was lying face up on its charger and I was awake before the alarm was due to go off. I did not touch the phone at all, but the alarm did not go off. I checked the phone and made sure that Galarm was still running, and I saw that the weekday alarm was listed as acknowledged, meaning the app thought the alarm had sounded, that I had pressed the notification on the lock screen, and that I had pressed the Done button in the app. I had done none of those things. Had I not already been awake I would have missed appointments. So while I really like this app, it is not reliable. I have contacted Galarm Technical Support but they have not responded.

If you like Samsung clock app— this is by far the best you’ll find. I promise. I was a Samsung S8 user for about 5 years and got really attached to the features that Samsung’s clock app offered. I switched to iPhone without realizing I would lose them all. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t offer the features that one would expect should be standard for any alarm clock app on any brand phone—the biggest, setting alarms for future times beyond one day seems like a necessary, basic feature. I spent so much time looking for a new app, and I was so lost. I almost overlooked this app because it didn’t have too much attention on the App Store— it can do almost everything. It has about 85% of the creature comfort features I need to feel like I still have my Samsung clock app.

Actually alerts you when you have an event coming up. I missed an office visit juggling too many tasks at once so I needed an alarm that I could set on my phone for future dates more than 7 days in advance. Calendar apps like google or outlook don’t allow you to set an actual alarm. They simply give you a notification which is easy to ignore or miss if you’re not checking your phone regularly. I’ve tried to use post it notes but you can carry those around. When your busy it’s almost impossible to remember to write that doctors appt, deadline, or event down when you get home. Now any important dates I have I make sure to add them immediately so I never miss out on events! Also download the “Alarmy” app if you really never want to miss events and set the time similar as the one on the clock app. It’s better to have separate apps to notify you as opposed to one. And if you set the Alarmy app with the clock app at the same time there’s no way you’ll be able to ignore the sound! Hope this helps !
