Tapplock

I was really excited about this lock because I always forget something in my locker at the gym and the classic dial locks get old real fast. FINALLY I don’t have to spin the dial around like crazy and mess up my combination only to start over again. Now I can just put my finger on it and BAM! But no that’s not what happened. Spent $100 on this thing, downloaded the app, got it connected, and that’s as far as the app has gotten me. It won’t load finger prints into the lock so I can’t unlock it with a fingerprint and even though it’s connected to my phone while in Bluetooth mode it still won’t unlock using the app. I can’t even delete the lock from my account to reconnect and start over. I’m extremely disappointed in this because I was crazy excited about this thing and it doesn’t even work after spending the amount of money I did on it. There’s zero option for setting it up without the app and the instructions it comes with are an absolute joke that tell you nothing about how to get started using it, only how it operates. You’ve let let me down in a big way Tapp.

Received my lock today and I love the overall quality. It feels like it could withstand a .45 shot and still keep working. This lock is going on my shed and will have to put up with lots of rain and winds up to 60mph every once and awhile. Looking forward to seeing how it deals with the heat as well. It can get into triple digits! The only reason I couldn’t give it five stars at this point is the charging port magnet is not strong enough to keep the cable from disconnecting at the slightest touch/bump. Make the magnet stronger or change the design. I will update my review in a years time to let you know how the lock did throughout the seasons.

UPDATED REVIEW - customer service was no help but I was eventually able to get my Tapplock account created. Now that I have it set up, I actually love this lock. The lock is designed well and works well. The lock deserves five stars but giving 4 stars for poor customer support. ORIGINAL REVIEW - I bought a Tapplock last week. It arrived and I was eager to set it up. After downloading the app I was unable to create an account because the app crashed. I emailed customer service and the replied that they were upgrading their servers and I should be able to create an account after the upgrade was finished. Next day, still can’t create an account an the app is still crashing. Emailed customer support back but no reply. It’s VERY hard to get through to customer support or even get a reply. I keep filling out the online forms to email customer support but the system thinks I’m spam and won’t process the form to send the email to customer support. These people are no help and their product doesn’t work.
