In order to change temperatures you have to keep unplugging the unit & removing it from the aquarium to get a reading with your mobile device. Such a hassle. Why not make it so that I can put my phone up to the glass to scan & be able to change the temperature? For such an expensive device the app should work much better than this.

last week I plugged this heater into my new 40 gallon tank, followed all the instructions and set the tank to 78 degrees. I planted some fresh plants in there that I had just bought at a store worth over $250. Over the next 3 days they were basically completely dead and I was going crazy wondering what was happening since all of the water parameters were testing just fine. The app was still telling me the heater was set at 78 so I didn't think much about the temperature, until I stuck my arm in there to start throwing away all the dead plants and realised the tank was FREEZING like ice water, probably around 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Are you kidding me? I have no words to describe this trash product and application. Money thrown quite literally into the garbage

Syncing my Xstream SDC pumps was pretty straight forward, no real issues there. Setting master and slave modes between both pumps was less intuitive. For every change of a setting, you have to hit the save icon for it to save and push the change. One frustrating thing I discovered was that the app does not yet support the Dark appearance on the iPhone. I found this out when trying to create a custom schedule and the time selection text was white on a white background so you couldn’t select the time you wanted. Another very frustrating thing I’ve found is, you are limited with flow customization and scheduling. The preset programs won’t allow you to set the peak power setting so if 100% power is too much for your tank, you can’t use those modes. Additionally, if you would like to schedule those preset programs for different times of the day, well, none of those programs are available for scheduling. I’m not really sure how random those preset Random Mode programs are either, because when you select them, it shows you that it’s setting it to Sinusoidal with a specific time value, if the timing does not change randomly, then you’re not getting random flow patterns. Also, why not just add a random timing setting to the customizable Sinusoidal program? Adding a timing range instead of a single value could accomplish this. Another issue I discovered is with the feed mode settings. You can schedule feed times, however, you can not enable or disable feed mode adhoc. I also experienced when feed mode was enabled at a scheduled time, it did not automatically stop feed mode when it was supposed to stop. Overall, I like the Xstream SDC pumps. However, there are improvements that can and should be made with the software to make it more customizable and useful to users looking for more versatility from their pumps.
