I am getting “playback error” nearly every time I try to play a song from my Apple Music library. Would love to talk with the developer about how to fix this.

Ignore the reviews below. I took a chance on this app after reading the reviews and it's perfect! To add songs simply select "add song" and point the program at your itunes directory. Plays both MP3's and songs purchased on the iTunes store (M4a). What I did notice is that the "add song" icon seems unusable (goes grey) after adding your first batch. Stays grey unless you clear your songs queued. It's likely user error. A simple work-around to this is to simply drop and drag songs you want to add from iTunes to the app window. Other than that this app seems to do exactly what I want (slows songs down while keeping pitch, and changes pitch while keeping tempo). 5 stars!

I bought this app specifically because I needed to transpose a song on Apple Music to a different key. The add in description of this app says "works with Apple Music". When I tried to transpose it, even though it is downloaded on my iPhone, it told me the app cannot transpose songs from Apple Music. I tried the app support link to ask about this, but it takes me to X and I don't have (or want) an account on X. I wish I could get my money back, as it doesn't do the one thing I need it to do!!!

About Pocket Jam

Pocket Jam is for musicians wanting to practice and play along with their favourite songs. Loop specific sections of songs, or change the pitch or tempo in real time.

If you don't have a capo to hand — or worse, the song is in a lower tuning than you, Pocket Jam has you covered. You can change the pitch up and down — in real time — to any amount of semitones up to an octave.

Looping lets you pick specific parts of the song you want to practise. Once enabled, drag the left and right handles on the play bar to set the start and end of the loop, and it'll loop between them.

And when looping isn't enough, you can use the speed trainer. With a loop set up up, you can have it start each loop playing slowly, and gradually get faster after each loop. You can customise how slow it starts, and how many loops it takes to reach the full tempo.

Mark specific times in a song with section markers. It'll let you jump to parts or set up loops quicker.

You can add songs from your Apple Music library — streaming or downloads — or from your Files on device, and play them back in real time, or export them. Pitch adjustments and file exporting are not available when streaming from Apple Music.
