I’ve been using a cta tracking app for years and somehow never came across this one before- it’s awesome! On time, accurate and being able to watch the bus as it gets closer is a huge plus. Be careful though- sometimes that 4 minutes turns into 1 very quickly!
I had the old app called transit stop before it went haywire and then basically disappeared off the App Store bc I cant find it, and I guess it was replaced with this app which is hands down the most frustrating and insufferable app ever. I am trying to ride the 152 but it only has times for the 152 going east.... I need to go west! And on top of that finding any bus routes is difficult because it will pull up other cities bus routes.... I’m in Chicago why would I need bus times for Kalamazoo riddle me that! Transit stop app was so easy and simple, and always had the right times for the train and for the bus. Oh also I commute around 5am and in the winter months having accurate train would be nice so I can be outside as minimally as possible. The only times the app said a train was coming during the 5am hour was 5:18 and 5:50..... incorrect! There’s normally 3/4 trains during the 5am hour, I had to guesstimate when I should leave. This app is an inconvenience and awful but I literally can’t find anything else that’s good. I pay taxes damnit! I should have a functioning app the helps me plan what public transit I have to take that day! It’s simple !!!
As a new college student I need to get used to taking Chicago’s CTA and this app is amazing at helping me estimate the times I will arrive at my destinations...since I was a child I’ve been used to door to door service from my grandfather and never took any public transportation before. One day while in the middle of an anxiety attack over my first CTA ride to college I found this app... and I haven’t been anxious since! so far it has only been 1 min off(ahead of schedule) but as I try to be at each stop at least five min before the bus or train comes that is fine. The one thing I would like however is if this had Apple Watch compatibility. I think it would be great if this app could be used with the Apple Watch to lower the amount of times someone takes out their phone on transits.
