It forces the queen on you every time you promote, sometimes it can result in a stalemate, which is exactly why we may need either in most cases a rook or knight instead. Easy mode, despite dropping pieces earlier and then playing much better later in the game, is actually ELO 540 strength. You can “leave the bait” to give you a skewer or fork, and it will usually take it, which was how I won a lot of games at this level.

I’ve been practicing in chess and trying to get better but the easy mode is extremely hard for me. It’s frustrating me and like others have said if you could make it a bit easier, that make a five star game. Other than that it’s a GREAT chess game, there’s nothing better than a board but this is for sure second in playing chess.

The "one player" option could use a "beginner" setting below the current "easy" setting. I am a complete novice, and even the "easy" setting has been very frustrating and discouraging for me. The game works well--no flaws, good graphics, makes clear the options. If you already have some chess ability, I'm sure it's great. I might keep trying a little longer, but constantly getting pummeled by the so-called easy opponent isn't as much fun for me as playing against another beginner would be. However, I do want to acknowledge that the game seems well designed in general. It allows for one- or two-player play at more than one level; it looks and sounds nice; and the limitations on moves are clearly communicated.
