Personally speaking this was an AMAZING experience. Ive never thought about buying a car online before, but after going through TRED I can reconsider that. The process was so simple; I literally did everything on my iPhone. Even when I thought I wouldn’t be approved because of difficulties getting my pay stubs, they found a way to work with me and got me approved. It beats the hassle of sitting at a dealership all day and having to deal with money hungry salesman and finance managers. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5/5 is because I don’t want people expecting too much and be disappointed. But I would 100% RECOMMEND giving TRED a try and I hope it works as smooth for you as it did for me.

** UPDATE ** DO NOT INSTALL AND USE TRED - I am in the market to buy a car. I’ve tried to chat with a couple sellers not realizing that by doing so would cost those buyers $99! Just for asking a couple questions! This is a rip off to those poor sellers and I’m sorry I asked questions about your cars! Now I completely understand why none of those sellers have responded to my questions, they are trying to avoid being ripped off by TRED. This app should be removed entirely **
Original review - I’m extremely frustrated with this platform. The website offers to chat with the seller but everything is handled within Tred. But, I’ve tried to communicate with two sellers without any response. I’m not convinced the sellers are 1. Real, 2. Receiving my messages if they are real. Tred assured me that the vehicles are available. I’ve sold cars before and am anxious to speak with potential buyers. So I believe they are posting fake ads to try and gain business. Just my theory. Since the website has failed me I tried the app. Upon install it would not load listings so I can’t try it that way. After a couple days still no listings in the app. Frustrating to find a good car at a good price and not be able to communicate with the seller. I’ll be avoiding this platform and do not recommend.

So, I’m trying to sell my car and downloaded this app. Ratings and description seemed pretty good. I’m in NJ and looking to sell my car privately and not to a dealership. The app allowed me to proceed to enter my car details but wouldn’t allow me to move forward until I became “verified.”
Well in order to do that you have to upload your drivers license and verify your bank information. So, great I did all that and became “verified.” Only problem was that if you’re not in one of their few states they do business in you’re unable to sell your vehicle privately ala Craig’s list, autotrader, etc. I chatted with their customer service and they weren’t able to explain why my personal information was requested from the app even though I reside in NJ (where their app is useless). The app description has the participating states all the way in the bottom.
Anyway, it makes me question the legitimacy of the app when they’re asking for sensitive information for a service one can’t even utilize if they’re not in their service area. The customer service rep did say that he would “purge” my data when I logged out of the app. Very frustrating and total waste of time.
