This app has a more simple feel and a modern feel to its parent company’s app (Maverick). Both apps can take notes to each other. I see people complaining about the pay in app option. But even the parent company app (Maverick) shows its stations fuel prices when you click the locations button and choose the location for details. Show at least the fuel grade price for locations would be nice. Especially for customers that would like to compare fuel prices before choosing where to go! Without relying on people being honest and frequently updating 3rd party apps

Maverick purchased Kum and Go and brought the K&G app in line with the Maverick app. Alas, this is a regression in technology. Payment through the app has been removed, and I’ve noticed tap to pay at the pump is gone. Enter phone number. Insert card. What is this, 2015 at Speedway? Rewards now no longer apply to gas- so if you want to buy gas station food or soda, it still works. As I don’t do that, it’s lost its usefulness. Shell has progressive discounts and that beats K&G’s new two cents off. That said, I only need to enter my phone number for the discount- why bother with an app? Any way you slice it, this is a step backwards. Marketing can spin it however they want, but it is a technological regression. My guess is this saves a decent amount of money for the company, and let’s face it, most people won’t care. So while I was pretty excited two new K&Gs nearby because of the K&G, the loss in technology means it’s just another gas station with ho hum rewards. App deleted. I’ll stop at K&G if convenient, but it’s no longer a priority choice as it was with the old app tech and rewards.

Just updated to the newest version of the app. While the new app is much faster than the old one, that’s about the only plus. As far as I can tell, you can no longer activate the pump and pay from the app? That’s literally the only reason I used the app (which in turn is literally the only reason I go to Kum & Go). If I’m mistaken and the feature is still there, then it’s so hidden that again it’s useless. I don’t like to be one of those “you just lost a customer!” people, but Kum & Go is slightly out of my way, and since the literal only reason I went out of my way to go to Kum & Go had been eliminated, I will likely stick to stations already along my route. I did just stop at a Kum & Go and apparently the pumps also don’t have a way to scan your rewards card or put the info in, so apparently you have to go inside and prepay to get the discount (in my case 12 cents)? Absolutely not.
