This app is truly amazing. I downloaded this app toward the beginning of my summer break because I was missing being in a learning environment daily. And, man, I did not expect this app to have such a wonderful impact on me. It is perfect for people who enjoy learning or want to get into a habit of reading. After a few days my article feed has been tuned to meet the topics that interest me. There are many little details that make this app amazing! There is a bar at the top showing your progress which is encouraging and has significantly improved my reading time, interest, and completion of the article. The app also reminds you of articles you’ve read to refresh past learned information. You are able to report which articles are to your liking and which you would like to see less of which is extremely helpful when it comes to tuning your feed. And, you are able to make personal notes with your thoughts on the articles. These details are small but significant. I am incredibly grateful for this app and how much it has helped me! I most definitely would recommend it.
I’ve had this app for a little over a week now, and I’ve checked it religiously every day. I’ve recently felt bogged down by social media, so I decided to take a break from most of them, and instead focus on what will actually make my life better. That’s where Refind comes in.The way their algorithm tailors intelligent, well-written, and thought-provoking articles beautifully encourages you to keep exploring new facets of life that you may not have even realized you were interested in until it was suggested to you. At first I thought that being limited to only ten articles per day would be a draw back, but I’ve actually found myself excited for tomorrow to come because it means a new batch of articles from Refind (plus, if I really feel like continuing, I can still find more to read on their app, it just won’t be specifically suggested for me). Overall, this is a brilliant app and I’m really happy I found it. My one qualm, however, is the aesthetic of their app logo. A small qualm, I know, but the app itself is beautiful and laid out very nicely, but looking at the logo (specifically the blue they’ve chosen) on my phone’s home page doesn’t evoke thoughts of The New Yorker or a scientific academic journal, but instead Quizlet or Photomath. Both very useful apps in their own right, but Refind, to me, feels well… refined, and should be more aesthetically pleasing than their current color scheme puts forth. This may not matter for some people, but I do think it would draw more people in if the immediate look brought on thoughts of the height of hard-hitting news rather than Khan Academy. But I’d say that if the color of the little square is the only thing I don’t love about this app, then it must be pretty great (Which it is!).
I am loving this app! I've been using it for several months now in order to help me limit the loads and loads of information flowing at me. Within Refind, I'm able to follow specific people, specific themes, flag them daily to "read later", but then set some time aside during the week to "consume" my articles/videos of interest. I love how iterative they are with their app and continually add new efficiencies and learnings. Kudos! My favorite newer find with Refind is the ability to go to my reading list, filter by “Audio” and listen while on the run! Awesome Support! I had one minor glitch months ago where the audio wasn't going to the right article, I contacted support and they were ON IT the same day. It's nice to see a group of people that are really passionate about taking a common issue (too much info being pushed in our faces) and efficiently delivering it in a way that we can tie it into our existing systems. i.e. I'm an Obsidian user – by using connections, I'm able to take all my articles, highlights, tags, notes, and bring them over easily to make even more connections with all the things I'm consuming. Because of Refind, I'm able to continually learn, daily, all while saving my time (and energy) by reducing my hunt for information and by bringing awareness to new things that have been published recently. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
