The City of Greensboro is excellent in all city services. The trash and recycling pickup is outstanding. Those driving the trucks are careful with the pickup of container and depositing them back on the pavement. A couple of months ago a trash truck had a problem and required a service call. I was thankful to be able to commend the driver for the excellent service. Within 20 minutes a service person arrived and had the truck functioning.

First off let me say that up until this last design change the GSO collects app was probably the most reliable app on my phone when it came to notifications. Now in the current version of the app, even though I have notifications on set for 12 hours in advance of the weekly garbage collection, it won’t notify me at all. Not to mention I can no longer set a truly custom reminder, because I used to have the notification set earlier in the day, so it’d at least be in my mind. If you care anything about the citizens of Greensboro using this app you need to at least make sure the basic functions of this app are working, instead of adding games and trivia.

If you’re going to have all kinds of complex rules about what trash to put where, how far apart, when, in what container, and with what bindings and bagging, it’s good to have an app that clarifies matters and reminds you when to do it. The app is really superior. For example, it is easy to report a missed pickup, and there is abundant information on special forms of waste and what to do with them.
