It still shuts off and goes into buffer if someone calls or an alarm goes off. It’s been super buggy lately please help. Thank you.
I appreciate being able to stream the programs from my phone. But if an alarm goes off or I get a phone call or do anything else on my phone that uses sound the app stops steaming and I have to close and reopen the app for it to play again. Doesn’t happen with other streaming apps. No where in the app to report issues either.
Update, 11 July 2017: The app is now far more stable! Works quite well. It lags the actual radio transmission by about 60-90 seconds, which makes switching from mobile to car radio tricky, but that may simply be the price they had to pay for more robust streaming. My only current quibble is the ad that plays before the steam starts. The ad itself is fine and is just the right length. But it plays EVERY SINGLE TIME there's an interruption in the connection! Switched from wifi to cellular? No buffering or seamless transition for you; instead, back to the ad! Pass through a wifi dead spot? Learn about Vessel Health yet again! So. Darn. Frustrating. Fix that and you'll be pretty much a five-star app! --------------------- Original 2016 review: I love the arrangement and overall simplicity of the app. Want to listen live? Just have to open the app. Want to review the latest local news? It's just a couple taps (or fewer) away. The trouble comes when I listen while connected to wifi. After a couple minutes, the audio will skip or cut out indefinitely, forcing me to quit and reopen the app. After that, it usually works smoothly, but occasionally it will drop again. Frustrating--especially if I'm busy doing something else (like cooking, with messy hands). At times like that, I'm forced to switch to a public radio app from another state that works much more reliably. (Sadly, I often time my use of the app to squeeze in the local news headlines before it drops, and then switch to the other one to avoid further disruption.) I'd love to stick more loyally to KUNM's app, but until streaming performance improves, it's a frustrating love-hate relationship with a promising but troubled app for me. :(
