Reviews: What People Think About Thrillshare

This app is such a dinosaur. It literally seems like it was made in 1985. Not user friendly, extremely confusing, terrible technology. Keeps getting picked up by school districts and being required to use, I assume because it’s easy for them to monitor us and nothing else (maybe cheap too). The entire point of the app is communication and no one can figure out how to use it to communicate. They changed and added a big update for the upcoming school year and literally made it more confusing. Some of the younger tech savvy people can figure it out including myself - great! But who are we going to communicate with if no one else can figure it out? Why am I having to investigate and practice with an app? Have you heard of texting and messaging? It should be like that! Genuinely think I could design a better app myself if you gave me 20 minutes. I don’t even want a change, just delete the app so we can go back to a useful, colorful, fun experience that actually works. If you’re a superintendent please don’t choose this no matter the cost. No one is happy - teachers, parents, admin. Who is this for?

After the recent update I had all contacts for the entire school district (30,000). Then it was narrowed down to the entire school. Just recently they tried to fix it again and I have the guardians of every student I have taught since our district started using the app. It’s the first week of school and it’s frustrating because it’s so difficult to contact parents. The app isn’t bad when it’s working. Please fix it so we only see the guardians for the current school year. Also somehow have the students name by the guardian. I have students with different last names from their parents and I don’t know who goes with who.

My district requires us to use ThrillShare, and unfortunately it has been one of the most frustrating apps I’ve ever had to work with. It takes a very long time to load even simple things, and it often crashes, which makes communication inefficient and stressful. There is no way for families to interact with announcements… no liking, commenting, or easy feedback options, so it feels very one-sided instead of encouraging the kind of two-way communication we strive for in schools. The design is not user-friendly or intuitive, and it certainly isn’t inviting. As an elementary school teacher, I wish it had a more warm, engaging, and approachable look. Instead, it feels overly corporate, bland, and unappealing for families. Overall, ThrillShare makes connecting with parents and guardians harder than it should be. It needs major improvements in usability, aesthetics, and interactive features to truly support meaningful school-to-home communication.
