I can’t send a normal text to the watch. The watch does not receive texts. It only accepts WeChats that are made through the SE tracker app. And the watch can only respond to the WeChat with a voice text which makes it pointless to even text anything when my kid can just call. If I send a WeChat, there’s no notification on the watch to show a chat came through. They’d have to hear the chime (useless in loud areas) or randomly check the WeChats. Lots of weird options that I don’t understand, not user friendly, and the instructions don’t explain, like the my friends option or the pedometer. I can’t seem to get the sound guardian to work through the app. It worked once, and now I’m not sure how to activate it.
The app functionality largely depends on the quality of the watch you purchase. There is a stark contrast between a 2G watch and a 3 or 4G watch. The app works pretty smooth with 3G or higher but lots of bumps and connection issues with the 2G watch. Example: GPS is super accurate on my daughters 3G watch and not even remotely close (30+miles) on my son’s 2G. I also can only make changes to, text or set alarms etc on my son’s 2G watch when it’s in just the right spot to get service (maybe 30% of the time because 2G is being phased out). However, I can make updates via the app about 95% of the time with the 3G watch due to much better service as well as wifi capability. All in all, the app works great considering it’s a free app.
Overall the watch is great, the app is where there are some stumbling blocks. The GPS is NOT accurate most of the time, which is very disconcerting. There is no way to update the time from 24hr to 12hr especially when your trying to teach time. Voice clarity is great, picture quality is not the greatest but it’s there. The sound guardian feature is great but hardly works properly. More guidance and better navigation within the app would be great. I’m not sure exactly what the make friends is for but it doesn’t work anyway. Otherwise it’s a great watch, I may look for something else if improvements don’t come in the app... so many other parents are interested. Hopefully the team can develop some really good things for us to utilize. Thank you for what you have created so far!!
1 intercom: APP record and send to device, device record and send to app. 2 map: APP can search the last position and show in the map,and get the realt...
