I have been using this app for a year. I use it standalone and with Roon. I have used it with the 390 and now the 891. I use the 891 for streaming from Qobuz and in balanced mode for theater bypass. I listen to music and watch movies every day. I do have excellent wifi. I have had essentially no difficulty managing the system with the app. I do wish the 891 could at least turn on and off and change inputs with Alexa. Overall best app that I know of for a high end system.
Basic controls all work. But why does Tidal library have a sort function for My Music but Qobuz does not for Favorites? Why, when choosing an album from My Music in Tidal, must I go back to the top of My Music when I back out? (I already scrolled past all those albums and want to continue scrolling down.) I think if the programming team actually used this app - can they even afford Moon gear? - it could be way more functional. Or maybe if the Simaudio people used the app.
Moon makes exception audio equipment. That said, this app does not match the quality of their gear. It gets the job done but lacks the polish of their industry leading hardware. That said, the only feature that is critically missing is the ability to utilize the Tidal Track Radio feature. Tidal’s music discovery is amazing and the Track Radio, which is the ability to start a curated radio station from any single track, is the best way to unleash this discovery. It is a huge omission from the MIND2 that this is not supported. As a result, I resort to using Tidal on my PC via USB, which means I miss out on MQA.
