Please review the terms for service activation. Many users here spread misinformation, claiming that customers are forced to sign up for an annual contract. In reality, that is not the case; the company simply offers a discounted annual plan. You can opt out of the annual plan and choose a monthly payment option instead. I had no trouble cancelling my contract and dropping the plan I didn't need—I didn't even have to call technical support. Furthermore, after submitting a written request to support, I received help adjusting my virtual machine's configuration settings without any hassle. To avoid unwanted charges, simply remove your payment method details from your account dashboard, and no further fees will be charged.
Horrible customer service. I never leave reviews but I had a horrible experience. I was with this company a couple years. Things were fine as a NEW customer. I ended up purchasing 3 contracts. But after several mistakes from the company resulting in losing my domain name that I paid for annually canceled all contracts (which took literal hours on the phone) only for them to continue charging me. When I reminded them that I cancelled because they lost my domain to another company without notifying me then told me I needed to pay them $90 to get it back! I told them I am not interested in paying for someone else’s mistakes so I’d like to terminate all existing contracts. They argued with me. Did not want me to cancel. Argued. To the point I was upset. I did not want their services. But they ended up canceling and gave me a confirmation number. I thought things were over. So now they decide to continue to charge my account while my account is closed, contracts are canceled and I no longer have access to the “invoice page”. I canceled my account yet they still keep charging me. I’m calling my bank and my legal representative next. I do not recommend this company. They do what they can to sell their contracts yet have no clue on how to manage them. How does a company lose a domain name in the middle of a paid in full contract? Do not buy from these guys.
I use the IONOS app - or should say I USED to use or TRIED to use it to access my domain emai. Typically it was just one domain that I use email for fairly frequently but this app is probably the worst app I’ve ever used for accessing email. I realize they are trying to give me a lot of features or abilities within one app, but they need to take some of that money I’ve been paying them for a long long time and write us an app wheee we can set up our domain email access and have a preferred domain that will take us straight into an industry standard inbox with industry standard functionality. Overall I’ve been happy with IONOS. They didn’t shut down my websites when my card was compromised and the bank turned it off, so I was happy about that. Buying a new domain is pretty easy. Some of the tools to use with your domain are a little confusing. As in what’s really free and what’s free for now but then later you’re going to charge me. I usually just end up grabbing a WP template and modifying it and adding in the plugins I want and what I can’t fix I just deal with it. I did try using their website starter kit, but found nothing remotely close to what I needed template-wise. (Tactical gear and training) so I went my own path using WP. Yeah so the only MAJOR complaint I have is how irritatingly ugly email access is with this app. As luck would have it the domain I do check my email on is like the second to the last of a whole bunch of domains I own. So instead of scrolling for 30 seconds and trying to tap that little settings hear with my big ol’ thumb, I just stopped using the app altogether and set up my email using other apps. But you guys are my domain host. You’d think you’d want to be a better “host” (pun intended) and give us loyal customers an email app that’s worth a nickel.
