Crashes, asks for verification to activate account even after you already have and are already signed in. Asks you to enter postcode to get local updates which you had to do to sign up?? Shows you news from areas not local and not chosen from the list offered during the sign up process. Developers please take time to actually use the app. It’s messy and frustrating to use and as you are pulling from various on line content test that the links work fully. Often after a minute or so the link stability fails and you get a white screen with no option but to swipe the app away. This could really be a great app; but for it to be the preferred choice it needs to be seamless and user friendly for all levels of tech ability. The local community after all is your target audience and you need to appeal to as many demographics as possible.
I fail to see that if I go to a news item why, before I can read it I am asked to give a review. Surely that is a preview, which in both cases is ridiculous as you cannot do either for something you cannot get to. I think it’s a case of self importance gone mad with priorities in the wrong order. News items should be able to be read without giving a pat on the back, which is only deserved if the article is well written, fair and accurate. As for the five stars being pre-filled in it only adds to the frustration. Don’t think I’ll be bothering with this site again. Now to submit it I am require to put in a nick name. The worlds gone mad. I’m not surprised try angry is taken.
As well as being a great way to be in touch with friends and neighbours in lockdown, this is a really valuable way for everyone to be aware of what’s going on around our own home, our street, our neighbourhood and community, and more widely. Specially useful for anyone who doesn’t want to sit glued to TV 24/7. Since most people don’t read a newspaper these days, what better way to share very real and sometimes urgent concerns, fears, news (good and not-so-good), ideas, encouragement ... and to hear about the best and (if necessary) the worst of local businesses ... Thank you for being the “glue” that can keep us sane, connected and informed, not only in lockdown but, I hope, when better days return.
