2/5 stars for customer service and could services 4/5 stars with cameras I’ve had issues with the cloud services and the subscriptions over my years of owning insta360 cameras. First we will start with cloud services they drop connections downloading constantly I barely can get through 5gb before it stops and have to restart. This has happened to my X4, two X5’s, Ace pro 2. So it’s not just isolated to one device. They also say they can’t do anything to help besides update the firmware and try again. Some times it work start from finish some times not. Next we have the subscription side. The prices aren’t horrible and you get the editing software to help with it. But if you chose the wrong one or want to upgrade wait till your subscription is about to end. Cause they will charge you the full amount again and not care about it. If you already paid for half of it why charge me as if I’m starting back over. Now my 1tb of free is about to end and trying to upgrade my paid for 1tb to two they want the full amount again. Feel like the company doesn’t care about customers as they did in the beginning before they were helpful now just said nothing we can do this past year with anything I need.

Review Update: as of 27 April the cloud export function has stopped working entirely. I just updated to the most recent version of the app and now have three clips in “Processing” status for four hours. These clips range from 30 - 90 seconds in length. As stated in the title…worse with each update! I bought an Insta360 camera specifically because of the Garmin integration. As a cyclist this is exactly what I was looking for. Sadly the desktop version where it would be far easier to do large scale editing is completely non-functional, which is a different issue entirely. Despite the massive inconvenience of trying to scroll through three hours of footage on mobile…that’s what I have been doing. But now with the most recent updates - nothing works. Stat overlays no longer export!!! They literally show up for one frame at the beginning of each clip and then disappear…but of course the stupid Insta360 watermark that I don’t want on the video remains in place perfectly. What’s even worse is that when contacting support they find every reason in the world to try and tell you it is YOUR FAULT. Even if you do everything exactly according to guidelines…or exactly how it had been working for weeks prior. This is the single most frustrating tech experience I’ve ever had, and buying an Insta360 camera has been the biggest waste of money I could imagine. Stop paying influencers to lie about how great your product is and actually do some engineering.

Update: App got fix and now it’s working well for me. Loving it now. Customer service gave me excellent experience. Updated to 4 stars, if they allow to choose more than 50 clips, that will be my 5 star. But over all, amazing app. I am brand new to 360 cameras and recently got my X5. Initial use of the app was great and I was able to choose multiple clips to edit using Ai auto edit. Im new so I still have a long way to know how to edit manually but Ai edit works well for me and minor editing. I updated the app and that almost made me return my X5 because of frustration. I cannot Ai auto edit multiple clips at once when I was able to do before and the clips are less than 4mins total time. Good thing insta did is a choice to be able to revert back to old version and with that, i am able to choose multiple clips and did the editing. Downside is, its really an old version with different layout I have to get to know. Hope they fix this soon. But have to admit, the X5 is really fun and nice but this app is making me think twice about keeping it.
