Stuck five black dots on an off-white, eggshell wall with normal interior lighting. Worked brilliantly from the getgo. Had the camera about six feet away from the target (on a counter a couple feet to the right), hit Start, walked to the other end of the hall (~30 feet) and fired away. Super Cool. No idea what the bad reviews are about. And this is using an old iPhone SE, hardly state of the art. We’ll see how it translates to the range but this is pretty fun. Lasers are cool and a LOT less expensive than rounds at the moment. Just gotta git me one of them 200w laser bazookas. ;-) The app is well worth the money. Feature request: let the user define the center of the target and how far away other parts of the target are (in my case four dots up/down/R/L from center dot). Would let the app do basic shot analysis... eg how many shots were x inches away, do you consistently pull your first shot, etc Also, have different colors for each shot. Make it easier to see at a glance where your first, 2nd, 3rd, etc shot placed.
Simple interface and operation. Point iPad at wall / target, press “start” and a buzzer sounds. Begin shooting with laser device. Shots register on screen with a ka-chung. After firing-set view screen to see group(s). Review each individual shot by tapping screen. Shot count and time are displayed sequentially for reference. Makes it easy to work on shooting basics without spending money on ammo. I like this app! Adjustable lead-in time, firing-set time, and goal number for shots. Can also save “target” results to iPad Photos. Have used thrice, so don’t yet know if any other features exist. For $10 and ease of use, it seems to be a worthwhile companion to, say, a SIRT pistol or AR bolt.
Just bought the app to use with my Laserlyte 45 cartridge. It keeps saying background too bright. Can't find an acceptable target even in dim light. Also, it defaults to 20 seconds and 4 shots. I need to keep setting the time lower and I like setting it to one shot. The app quits after starting and no photo is saved. So save yourself $10 and don't buy this. I had hoped the other reviews were wrong but they were right. What does this say about the parent company imarksman? Now back to square one. Will probably but the Laserlyte target. Oh, I'm going to try to get my money back from Apple.
