Wouldn’t recommend. Had a friend send money to my account earlier due to it being money that was going to go towards our house deposit. That money was then detained by HyperJar. An email was sent to me asking me to provide evidence of where the money came from, I’ve sent them everything but no idea of when I’ll hear back (empty promises of 72 hours, but many people on their trust pilot declare otherwise, plus if you’re going to suspend someone’s account without warning and take their money, this is something that they should prioritise and deal with within 24 hours maximum). Did have their WhatsApp team say they would add a sense of urgency to my account, but this was only offered on my third attempt at contact and can not guarantee that this had actually been done. Everywhere you turn they say they cannot help you with the issue, you just have to wait. Customer service with the company is below the bare minimum. Similarly when entering online chats they ask for different details from you each time to confirm your account, which in my opinion is incredibly sketchy. Haven’t had any issues until now but this issue would make me incredibly hesitant to recommend HyperJar to anyone. I would actually recommend they stay as far away as possible.
I am so happy that I stumbled across this app! I had been looking for a way for my children aged 10 and 14 to have a card that they could use out and about, without having to pay monthly fees. I was dubious that this service was free with HyperJar, but they have proved me wrong… Everything is free, safe, secure and the whole setup process is so easy, and the app is also so easy to use. My kids are over the moon that they have got a bit of freedom with their money and can just pop to the shop to spend a couple of pounds. I’m also able to see what they’ve spent and top up their “jars” within seconds. I also have the option to use the app myself for budgeting, by way of putting certain amounts into different jars. I haven’t really used this service yet, but I can see how it would be really helpful for some when trying to budget monthly spending. Well done HyperJar, I really couldn’t have asked for anything more from an app :)
Such a great easy to use card. I got a card for myself and from that I can create pots (jars) of money to help budget! I have a food shopping jar, a diesel jar and a savings jar. I then transfer in the monthly budget (you can create whatever works for you) then spend out of each jar/pot! You can keep a jar linked or pop into the ap to change jars between spending. Great way to manage money. I also was able to get my 2 kids a card each! They use this now instead of cash for the shop and when out with friends. Works contactless which is easy for them to use and I then get an alert of where they spent and how much. I can also transfer money over to their card really easy. I don’t need to worry about them losing their money or being out and running out of money. It’s also easy to transfer money to my card from my bank and vise versa. I do my food shopping online so a bonus that I can also use the card online. (Kids can also use their card online) I have it linked to my Apple Pay for easy contactless payment. Only thing is you can’t lift cash or transfer money from the card to another bank account (only your own bank account) However grandparents can transfer money into the main card (my card) and I can send the money over to the kids card. Best bit is it’s completely FREE!! Overall I give this card a 10/10
