Home Chef: Meal Kit Delivery

I rarely do reviews, but I have to tell folks..this company is top notch with great service. I’ve been using them for a year, and it’s been wonderful. I’m a single parent with two young daughters, so having time every night to make a meal from scratch is difficult. home chef changed all of that. I order 2 Meals for us(options start with family of 2, goes up by 2) since it’s only 3 of us I order the family of 4 every week and it’s so much food. I’m able to stretch those 2 meals for most of the week with leftovers, and they are SOOO GOOOD! Out of a year of meals, it’s only been a few we didn’t like..which I think proves how good their service is. Let me tell you how amazing their customer service is…there have been 2 mistakes during the past year, where they gave me steak instead of chicken or something like that..which isn’t a huge deal…but both times when I contacted them, they gave me credit on my account for whichever meal was mistaken. That never happens nowadays…and it’s a nice change that they really care about their customers. Anyway..I recommend 100%.

We started receiving Home Chef when they became available! Years ago Home Chef was a lifesaver for me. I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction and wasn’t able for almost a year to shop and prepare meals. Home Chef was an answer to our prayers (especially my hubby’s lol). With not having to shop and fully prep my foods it made it possible for me to prepare meals, with minimal help from him and not having to be concerned with wasted food due to having to buy more than was needed for meals. The food has been from day one fresh, top quality and delivered in better condition than in most stores. Being able to cook a well balanced, tasty restaurant worthy and beautiful plates. We even ordered extra dinners if company was coming. You get more than meat n taters lol, the menus and recipes are easy to use and you can adjust seasonings to taste. We have referred many friends through Home Chef’s referral plan and even given free boxes we earned as a customer, my husband was quite ill in 2019 and we received a gift from his brother to cover about 6 months worth of meals. I was able to order the wholesome, balanced meals he required during his recovery period. I’m getting long here, but I feel people overlook the uses that can be addressed by choosing Home Chef when life circumstances require you to adjust for, health reasons as well as during shelter in place for COVID. We are happy to recommend Home Chef to family, friends and anyone else that are hesitant about ordering meal kits. We have tried all systems that deliver to our area and none were as good overall or cost effective as Home Chef is. My husband and I have been a customer for about 2 months, and we LOVE it. The recipes are simple yet delicious, and I love that everything you need comes in the box, and there is no food waste, which is something I can struggle with when buying from the grocery store. We started out with 2 meals per week, but upped it to 3 meals just recently. Our first box included a binder, which is super convenient for keeping all our recipes, but the app has them all as well, which is great! I don’t like a lot of fuss when cooking, so the fact that they have easy, intermediate, and expert meals is nice, however, don’t be thrown off by the word expert, as those meals are still relatively simple to make! One reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because every single thing except the box is packaged in plastic. I think it would be nice if they switched to using more environmentally friendly materials, cause that’s a LOT of plastic when you think about all the people ordering boxes. The other reason is because the oven ready meals never turn out as good as the regular meals. Great concept, but I think they could be improved. Overall though, this is my favorite meal kit service due to the simplicity (yet amazing flavor) of meals, and the fact that the app is super user friendly. You can skip weeks, or you can even pause your account if you need to so you don’t have to worry about manually skipping for an extended period of time. Thanks, Home Chef!
