UPDATE: AND there he is AGAIN… ROMSAR!!! For the third week in a row like clockwork on pace for his usual 15,800. If you don’t promote, it must be broke… or rigged to ensure those 1000 pucks stay in house. #STOPTHECHEAT Been playing 3 years so obviously I love it. Sure a few improvements would be nice… fights, instant replay, in-game subs but mostly SHOOTOUT PRACTICE!!! Can’t stress that one enough. Or change the format cuz there is SO MUCH WRONG with coming off the bench to play goalie and not seeing the shot before having to choose where to cover. But the online tournament? Did a recent update include ‘make tourney impossible to win’ patch? Cuz NO WAY first place ALWAYS gets over FIFTEEN THOUSAND every week and a 7k point gap over the next closest team! Oh, and this week it’s the exact same guy as last week. Seems like he shoulda been promoted but there he is… playing over 120 games for the 2nd week in a row. That’s almost 15 seasons of games per week. By a guy who shouldn’t even still be in Legend Tier 5 League anymore. Even carnies know “they won’t play if they don’t think they can win”. You wanna kick my dog and sleep with my wife too?
It’s a fun game, you can shuffle the player lines, you can upgrade them to the next tier, but they won’t get better on their own, you have to upgrade them. At first, the opposition will make mistakes over and over again. But in the late game, your team will be the one making mistakes. But it’s not on you, it’s the computers controlling the rest of the team. The computers never defend when needed, they stand flatfooted at the far blue line. Whenever we need to be offensive, they are hanging back at your GOAL line. The computers need to be fixed. Penalties get called way too often on your own team. They get called for charging, and checking from behind. The checking from behind was programmed very simple, but half the time the computer just turns around right when you’re about to hit them. The charging penalties are a lot harder to program, but they appear almost every time you check in front of the other teams net trying to get on the rebound. It sometimes seems like a just take a shot, and the goalie runs out of the other teams net and immediately runs off for a delayed penalty. Other moments where charging penalties happen is when you run up and hit someone, which is charging, and when you are skating back into your zone when the other team has the puck, and you give them a good clean check. These are the problems with penalties.
I’m a huge hockey fan and it’s hard to find a good hockey game. This game is a great option for what it is but a few things really ruin it. The game play is decent but there are a lot of small things that make it aggravating. The keepers function extremely weirdly at times and will have pucks go through their body or they’ll make a save without moving when there’s a clear opening that would normally be a goal. Contracts, other consumables, and even more annoying, new players are all extremely difficult to come by without waiting 2 hours minimum. It totally limits the ability to play. The currency in game is almost impossible to get and packs for new players are extremely pricy. I hate feeling like I have to pay money to get anywhere in a game and this game definitely has that feeling Update : I got to a point where I was building up my team to a solid spot. But now I’m at a point where I physically can’t do anything and there’s one reason in particular. Contracts. The games contract system truly shoots it in the foot. I was in a great place with my squad and then all of a sudden they’re unusable because of contracts. I have no way of getting more without spending money and thats not the experience I want from any game. So I go to my bench to see who I can swap in to actually play. Its then that I see almost all of the players I had were at 0 seasons for their contracts. If you’re going to force a contract system for a cash grab, don’t make unused players contracts expire just for sitting on the bench
