Funky Bay – Farm & Adventure

I’ve been playing Funky Bay for close to 3 years and have enjoyed it immensely. It has the basic, clear land, grow crops, decorate your island and populate it with fruit trees, animals and craft buildings. There is a submarine for under water clearing/exploring, an expedition ship to bring seafood, and other islands to explore. There are also special event quests of exploring. And there is a weekly regatta for competing with other teams. So the gameplay is all very nice. The problem is, the game seems to have been put on autopilot and abandoned. There hasn’t been any new content in over a year. The max level is 100. We previously had a weekly gift of which choices were given and voted on over at the game’s Facebook page. There was a dolphin nursery, now gone. The submarine and special quest events are on a cycle. It’s all very repetitive. So while it’s a nice little fun game, I would not recommend it unless you see that it has been updated recently. As of this writing, the last update is showing as a year ago.

I love the concept of this game! However, there are many many bugs that make this game so frustrating it’s not worth investing time in anymore. The challenges are impossible to finish or to make any progress on unless you spend money for gems to clear land. There is a gem trap on the challenges in the form of a pop up box that will pop up quickly at the same time you are clearly land and suddenly you’ve accidentally clicked on this random box and lost all of the gems you’ve worked hard to collect. There is a coon trap in the store where you click on items to buy, the store takes your coins, but you never get the items. Add to it the multitude of other problems that happen on a daily basis in this game and it’s worth taking a pass on spending time with an unreliable app as this seems to be. I have contacted customer support several times for lost items on my account. I never receive any response back except a predrafted response telling me how busy they are and how updates have been made. What updates? Where? And please tell us how that is helping the issue we are coming to you about! Telling us you have made updates without resolving our losses is as good as the zero response that I have also gotten in the past from support. Players, do yourself a favor and skip to another game that isn’t trying to scam you.

This is a cute game. I love the concept, the characters, the tasks and games, the islands. But it is buggy, even glitchy. The market is full of items that are already sold, making it nearly useless. Many players have complained but there’s no response. The cost of items increasing as you move up levels is ridiculous. An apple tree should cost the same on every level. The in-game chat for neighbors works sporadically and is very limiting. The islands are cute and I love this separate game, but the cost to clear them is high. Again, complaints from everyone but silence from the developers. I’ve paid real money for them in the past, as I want to support the game. It’s at the point that I am not sure that I will give the game any more money until problems are fixed. And finally, the regatta. Fantastic concept, I love it and my neighborhood. But it needs an overhaul. The tasks are too low in points to make a serious run for placing in top 3, and this is after an update. So they made it harder. And there are teams, regularly from outside the United States, that rack up impossible points in the first few minutes of the race. It’s impossible, so something is going on. And again silence from the developers. I love this game but it needs attention, and the developers need to start communicating more than silly polls on their Facebook page.
