I’ve been a FightCamp member for 2+ years Boy, has this app changed! It started out just Boxing. No long warm-ups, no abs. Just the basic. Then, after a little nudging, kickboxing arrived!! After a little more nudging, Abs and then warm-ups came into the picture. Trainers, Tommy, Flo, Aaron, PJ, and Shanie are upping their game! Now we have Jess, who you will adore. She’s the trainer’s trainer. I got my Christmas wish and now the app has strength and conditioning, recovery and stretching, shadow boxing, drills, and don’t forget the fighter’s paths!! The only thing missing is jump roping, and you just KNOW Tommy’s got it going on!!! If you are new to kickboxing or boxing, there’s a path for you. Start at the top of the list and build your skills as you work your way down. There’s even a Facebook page, and individual Instagram trainer pages, to help those who would like/need a community for support. I’m really pleased, not only by the positive improvements in the activities within the app, but the IT support. We had a glitch in our trackers and IT was right on the problem and got them sorted out right quick. Money and time well spent! Ding! Ding! Ding! Step into the ring!!!
So I bought FightCamp as a Mother’s Day gift to my wife during quarantine. I figured if al the fitness stuff she was asking for, FC might be one that I would use as well (selfish, I know, but also practical, right?!) She loved it, but struggled to get into a routine. I, on the other hand, fell in love at first fight. I’ve never boxed before, so was glad they had a few Paths to follow to gain skill and learn the basics. Didn’t take long for me to get the hang of things. The trainers are super helpful and very interactive - I’ve had several DM conversations with them about progress and they’re always providing great tips and encouragement. After sticking with it for about 5 or 6 months I noticed that while my fitness was improving, but my weight wasn’t changing at all anymore - mind you I used to be an athlete at a fairly high level, but let time and convenience take its toll on me. So I decided to listen to the advice of the trainers (Aaron and Flo specifically) and start putting in the work and sacrifice in other areas of life - especially the kitchen and alcohol intake (it was quarantine...intake was at an all time high). Started eating better and cut out drinking during the week. So far I’ve lost 32 lbs and 4 inches off my waistline. I’m looking and feeling better than I have in decades. Now all I want to do is throw some punches in the ring to see if it translates at all!! I can’t recommend this enough. I’m sure it’s not for everyone - my wife hardly touches it anymore - but for those who like to sweat, compete and improve, it’s probably the best workout program on the market.
Fight Camp is extremely well done. I have several years’ experience doing boxing training and classes like these at places such as Title Boxing, Rumble, etc. The quality of the class structure in Fight Camp is on par with any of those. It’s also important to note that the technology works really well too. There’s really no latency that I noticed in the tracking devices, which is great. That’s something you don’t get at most, if any, live boxing classes. So, it’s nice to have a quantifiable measurement of your activity and progress. Orange Theory and now SoulCycle are doing this, so I suppose Title and others will catch up, but it’s a differentiator for now. The app / team has done a great job making it feel personal to be in the Camp. They send out notifications, emails, etc, that don’t feel annoying but rather, they are supportive and full of helpful advice. I never write reviews for things because I find most things to not be very exceptional one way or the other. In this case though, I really do think this program and app are great. Boxing training is highly effective for getting in shape, so if you are considering going that route, then you will not be disappointed with this experience. If you’re a novice, the only thing I’d recommend is to take a lesson or a live class a few times to get some tips on how to effectively throw the punches. Your workouts will be way more enjoyable and productive. They do offer training in here but there’s not really any substitute for in-person instruction in my opinion.
