EG Nodes

Been getting sequencer after sequencer for a while; trying to figure out how to make compositions without the need for a DAW on iPad (mainly since I enjoy the immediacy of AUM and don’t really enjoy DAWs on here. iPad is just what I have to work with for right now.) Turns out this is just what I needed. Also, if you’re in need of something to turn Fugue Machine into something a bit more useable, this will do the trick nicely. Just set the playheads to four different instruments and you can record each of them simultaneously. Change the scene and rinse and repeat. Also, it seems like different scenes are getting armed and recordings are going into them despite disabling them beforehand. Not sure if that’s an issue on my end or a bug but it does seem entirely random.

>>UPDATE<< Awesome developer, I requested some form of audio recording or looping module, and low and behold, the new update provides! That is the kind of developer you throw cash at in wads… TAKE MY MONEY!!! This is an awesome app/plugin, my favorite clip launcher out there (since Logic Pro’s subscriptions are a deal breaker, and Ableton did not give us Live for iOS). My big request is, could you add an audio clip module, like a looper of sorts, to launch audio clips? That would be truly awesome! It would not have to be particularly advanced, just a simple synched audio looper that you could add AUv3s to. Yes, I know there are AUv3s that will do this, but none of the modules really feel well suited to host that sort of plugin. AT that point, this app would be a bit like a mini Ableton Live, and that would be a whole lotta fun! And, in many circumstances, you could avoid the need for a full DAW, which would be extra nice… That said, as it stands, this app is a blast! Easy to get to work on without having to pour over a manual, and surprisingly flexible. If working with clips is your thing, you need to, at the very least, give this app a gander!

YES! Dear Elliott Garage, Thank you soooo much for creating this wonderful app (and for SHARING it with all). The price point is very reasonable for what one can enjoy inside this marvelous app called EG Nodes. This all around DAW/mixer/MIDI sender & workstation “gets” me, and likewise, I “get” it. Now, it is true that at times, this initial release version seems to function as a “beta” version. There have been a few bugs reported (and soon after fixed with a quick update from you, Elliott Garage). The one “pan” bug that I personally encountered was fixed by your helpful instruction to close the app and restart it. Here’s looking forward to the forthcoming “Delta” version/update ; ) !!! lol. Even though a tad, a touch, a smidge, a bit buggy, I have already released 2 albums using EG Nodes as my mixer/mobile DAW/workstation of choice, with another album mixed in EG Nodes currently in the pipeline. ••• Highlights ••• • 1) The ability to work fast, loading up several nodes (and therefore instruments) per “scene” so as not to lose the initial creative “spark.” • 2) The many excellent types of nodes available. • 3) The ability to add X/Y pad(s) and/or slider(s) to each node, and record and play back your actions for each X/Y pad and slider.
