Honestly a really cool well thought out game even adults like myself enjoy. But ive been frustrated recently with some glitches and bugs and the constant ads๐ญ I already watch the ads voluntarily to get extra things idk why I have to still be bombarded. Also EVERY time i get a scelidosaurus fossil, even if i have already got it. It completely resets to give me a completely new skeleton. With the same exact fossils I already put on the skeleton. Not repeats, it says its a new dinosaur. Lets me put it on display next to my other one. Putting it in the inventory does nothing. Does not go away until I completely delete the app and reinstall. Just a bit annoying and the notification wont go away about a โnew dinoโ i need to display. Also the second time i want to expand its 3000??๐ญ from 800 last time? Seems like a huge increase that feels unfair. Double the price i understand but almost quadruple? Just took me off guard lol. I know this is a kids game but still I really enjoy it and I just was bothered a bit. Besides all that its a super cool game and definitely the best fossil hunting app ive found!! Thank you for all the love and care youโve put into it!
I do love this game, honestly, and it takes a lot to get me to actually leave a review. The biggest complaint I have about it, though, is the sheer number of ads you get. Yikes. You can pay to disable them, though, which is nice if you want to go that route. My second biggest complaint, though this honestly bothers me more, is that the ankylosaurus skull looks nothing like the animal itโs meant to be. It really throws me off, especially since thatโs my favorite dinosaur! Lastly, pick your digging carefully! You only get so much energy, so be sure you want to dig out that giant rib cage, because it might take all of it to do soโeven after boosting for more via an ad.
I really like this game, but the two most recent updates are quickly changing that. The process for upgrading fossilsโ bases and plaques used to be very straightforward, and easy enough to achieve with some patience. Now thereโs an irritating system in place that requires a lot more work/time and so far has been tedious. Given that you have to find considerably more fossils now, and that the only way to keep digging at a site if you donโt excavate everything the first go-around is to pay for more chances with gems, which cost real money, this feels like just another way to force people to spend money. The first few excavation sites likely arenโt affected by this too much, which is a good way to lure people in, but itโs a pretty big hinderance at later levels. Similarly, thanks to the most recent update, the lab where fossils are identified can now only examine 8 fossils at a time. It used to be unlimited! (Or if there was a limit, my dozens of fossils at a time never exceeded it.) Neither update has contributed anything fun or helpful to the game, like adding more items to the limited decor shop or fixing some of pesky bugs.
