Devialet

The app is stable. Graphics are clear, elegant, and subtle. So why do I struggle with it? I feel the app could be better and have more functionality. I have a pair of Devialet Phantom I 108dbs, a Mania, and a Dione. The multi room playback has the slightest delay between room. Also, I think there could be more features, including a spacial setting beyond that of the standard balance left and right. I’d like to manipulate the music a little more than the equalizer allows too. Think more like the Syng app.

One strange scenario I have seen is with the Devialet app on my phone 14 Pro Max: The app asks me to set up a product repeatedly, although Devialet Mania was set up properly and working fine before. For some reason, the DM speaker shuts off while on battery. For example, I pause a movie to answer the door or for other brief reasons, but when I come back to resume the movie playback, the app does not "remember" that the speaker was already set up. The best message the app should have displayed is that the speaker is OFF. Since yesterday, after the iOS update, Devialet Mania is asking again to Reset settings and search for the speaker. Repeating identical speaker setup issues over and over again on the Devialet app is called chaos! When the problem persists and repeats itself. You should have fixed this problem by now since we talked on the phone for two hours already. Please help solve this issue!

I am writing this review over a few issues that I am experiencing. I have 2 Devialet Dione soundbars. They sound great when they work but I have been experiencing connectivity issues with both devices. The first issue is with the app - with a device that costs this much, I would expect that the app would automatically recognize the soundbar every single time the tv is turned on however this is not the case. If I open the app, it tells me I have no devices and I have to go through the entire set up process every time. This is an issue because there is no physical remote that is provided and the entire system uses the app for volume control and custom audio settings (the limited settings it offers). The second issue that I am facing is the connectivity to the tv as a whole. After verifying that the cables and all connections and settings on the tv are correct, the sound will not play through the Dione and I have to disconnect all the cables and power off the device multiple times before it starts working again. I’m not sure if this is software based but this is happening with both units that I own. My hope with writing this review is that these issues can be addressed. Thank you!
