Derby Party

Excellent, easy to use app for running betting at a Derby Party. Used it last year, and already set it up for this year. Reeeally easy. I don’t know why people complain about importing — it only took me 10 mins to put in 21 horses and odds. Advice: Use daytime brightness on your iPad. Once it switches to nighttime and black background, it uses white lettering on white fields. Easily fixed by toggling back to daytime in your settings. Enhancement idea: I’d love to be able to do parimutuel betting calculations — where odds are determined by the bets — e.g. for a golf shootout, or a simulated horse race where all odds are equal going in.

This app is really easy to use and makes your Derby Party so much fun. It can handle any type of betting and the payout is so easy - even if their is a House Take. I called the developer last year to get some help - mostly I was in fear there wouldn't be a 2016 version - but there was - its just not until after Wednesday when the field is determined. I highly recommend this app.

I have hosted many triple crown gatherings and took win place and show bets using a pad and pencil. It all worked out but it took some time after the race to provide the results. I was at a family event on Saturday and was asked to run a Preakness pool. Knowing the group would be large I looked into using an app. I downloaded the full version of Derby Party and could not have been more pleased. Not only were the results instantaneous but the record keeping was great. Every bettor's information was available and the results were broken down for each winner. Triple wagering with or without a box became the most bet wager. The only thing I would possibly add would be an odds page reflecting the way the group is betting. All in all a great program.
