I downloaded and bought the basic subscription for this app so that I could look up my own name and try giving myself a background check. Every permutation of my name that I tried, including adding personal information like age and location, brought up nothing relevant. Putting in social media usernames was able to give me a basic synopsis, but nothing matching what the advertisements for this app claimed. I could just be an outlier since I’m not as active online as others might be, but this app doesn’t seem to be able to comb through people’s online presence like it claims.

This is maybe the most useless piece of garbage I have ever bought. Made the mistake of paying for service (a year no less) without trying it first. It is awful. I tried searching a few friends who I know have extensive social and internet presence. This worthless app produced nothing on any of them. A free Google search produces scores of hits with the same information. Then I tried searching myself. I’m all over the internet and have been for decades. Literally NO relevant information returned. I got a few hits for a soccer player with my same name but it was as if I didn’t even exist. Downloaded the app and discovered that my “premium” subscription didn’t propagate to the App. And customer service is pretty much nonexistent. I will try to see if I can get my money back (doubtful) for this garbage. But be warned. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Let me be clear: Offering a “free trial” which costs money up-front is Deceptive, and will leave a bad taste in the mouth of any shrewd consumer, which isn’t a good way to entice customers; Just because it’s allowed, doesn’t mean that it is good customer service. The nature of a real free trial is such that the customer is able to experience the full version of the app once or twice without having to shell out their hard-earned money, to determine if the app is the right fit for them and if the features of the app are going to solve their particular needs. If your app is good-enough, then it will be able to withstand the scrutiny of a free trial, & will be so useful in its niche that customers won’t hesitate to pay the costs after having the ability to test it for themselves. I refuse to allow a “not-free-trial” to become culturally accepted, as it is a dishonest business practice.
