Dark City: Mysterious Intrigue

I love this series for its captivating fusion of mystery, crime, and the supernatural. You are a reputable detective who is investigating a rash of incendiary attacks throughout the most famous cities in the world. Is the blazing Phoenix to blame, or is it a figment of people’s imaginations? Or do the magicians have a hand in causing the chaos? You put your detective skills to work in an interactive manner through acquiring clues and using deductive reasoning. You will learn a great deal of the backstory by reading collected materials within the locations as well as within the hidden-object scenes. The gameplay is entertaining and diversified enough to suit every player’s taste. Collectibles will be discovered in each scene. The game was free of any glitches, allowing for seamless fluidity. I thank the developers for continuing to provide a much needed source of enjoyment.

UPDATE: I just wanted to tell you all that Friendly Fox has increased their purchase price to $6.99, by one dollar, in line with Elephant (but way better) and lower than Domini. Don’t let this be a deterrent. Remember, the developer is in Ukraine and will donate a portion of the revenues towards their country’s struggles. It’s not a big deal. Just to let you know, this amazing adventure takes place in multiple cities. So that’s a first for this series. Hats off to Friendly Fox for such a terrific idea! This was the most creative and exciting installment of Dark City thus far. The storyline had so many twist and turns, and just when you think you know what’s going on, trust me you won’t see it coming. The developer has captured the ambience of New York, Paris and London at the turn of the twentieth century. The cinematography was mind-blowing. We were treated to a plethora of enjoyable tasks at each location. The mini-games and HOP had some new types, and were both interesting and challenging at the same time. You played from the viewpoint of Detective Agatha, and had to travel to all three cities to solve this unbelievable crime. The gimmicks were your notebook and deductive reasoning mode to learn more of the story. This game was like a book that you could not put down! The adventure was quite lengthy inclusive of the bonus chapter. In this bonus adventure, you embarked on another mystical case while playing from the vantage point of a New York City police officer, Liz Brooks. After playing this game, you can understand why Friendly Fox takes longer in between games than the other developers do. They want to give us the most magnificent gameplay experience possible. The only issue I had was that there was a lack of touchscreen sensitivity on the gameplay interface, especially during the HO scenes, making it a bit difficult to complete them. Other than that, the quality assurance was en pointe. My actual rating will be 4.5 stars. This is a must-purchase, gamers! It was worth every cent. Buy and enjoy. Friendly Fox are by far my favorite games! Long, hard in parts, easy in parts and spectacular graphics! I loved this one having great historical figures and clever twists on them. If I have a complaint it’s that I can’t get their games soon enough!
