This app helps me so much visualize movement when charting out choreographies. It’s better than just jotting on a notebook so i can see when exactly my dancers move with the music but one thing i wish the app could change or add is the fluidity of movements. An annoying problem i’ve been running into is that sometimes i’ll have a dancer slowly arc around the group to end in the back to join the formation but i can’t translate that well into the app. the app only allows linear movements across the grid. i wish they could add a feature where we could draw a path and add time signatures (or change speed at which they arrive) of individual dancers.
It's really easy to use but would really love it when adjusting the formations and transitions with the music that the selected formation/transition doesn't reset to the beginning. This is specifically for adjusting. The curser resets and I lose my place every time and end up having to be extra meticulous of where to spot the cut. This goes for importing music then selecting the cut too. I'm trying to cut it and it keeps bringing me to the end of the song. It's really frustrating - might be a glitch? I just started using it today and although it's very user friendly, there could be some efficiency improvements!
Since I am using it to choreograph for aerialists, I have to pretend the backstage is the floor and the audience is the top of the apparatus. I can still place them in lines in front of back of each other to move them around on the floor. Being able to add notes is awesome. One suggestion I would like is to be able to add a video clip on the stage area so you could see what the movement is supposed to be instead of only reading it below while the “dancers” move—kind of like picture-in-picture on a tv when you have two shows going.
