I used to play Battle Cats a lot. I kept on seeing this Cats the Commander so I decided to play it. It was different than I thought. Plus IGNITION, The name Isanagi got used on a random Legend Rare from Battle Cats. Plus you need actual INFO on the 7 Heroes, not just some stupid manga. But I LOVE THIS GAME. I play it more than Battle Cats. Plus here’s a glitch, One of my cats is a dog. So it’s weird when you see them say “Meow! I need to go to the bathroom” come out of his mouth, since he’s a dog. (I’m talking about Mocca.) Still, the game is FUN. Edit: I was looking through the series album and one of the events had Cat Master in a bikini 💀💔
I play both this and Battle Cats in tandem and really enjoy both of them. Honestly in some ways Cats the Commander might be the improvement, auto-battle isn’t a resource you can run out of, replaying already beaten levels has a built in speed-up function, getting the in-game currency (gems) for free is much easier than getting it in Battle Cats (cat food), unit designs vary a lot more than Battle Cats, and you are able to unlock U.S.R units of your choice after opening enough gatchas which Battle Cats does not have. However it is a lot less strategic than Battle Cats which might become boring for some people but the biggest issue is the performance sometimes. I will give them the benefit of the doubt since my iPhone is rather old but my game freezes constantly and even slows down my iPhone itself in which case it takes an annoyingly long time to close and re-open the app. I have never had a problem even remotely similar with Battle Cats. In conclusion, if you like Battle Cats at all you owe it to yourself to at least try Cats the Commander, it’s different enough and is almost like a sudo-unofficial-sequel in a way, other than the performance issues it’s a near perfect mobile game that needs a lot more much needed love, especially in the fan-art department.
I’ve been playing this on my phone for about a couples weeks or so, and I gotta say…ITS FUN! I love the unique mechanics, strategies, and stupid cats and it’s going to take fun effort to collect all of them. Well done IGNITION! To people seeing this as a Battle Cats ripoff is like saying two sports cartoons are the same just because they both play soccer…it’s dumb. The mechanics of weapons and badges is a fun quirk that makes this stand out, and honestly it feels more like an adventure then battle acts does. Music? A+. It takes RPG aspects and puts them with a twist, the type combos allow for strategy and to encourage Ticket Spending, and GOD THIS GAME IS JUST GOOD! Overall I would say Battle Cats is the superior game but DEFINATLY TRY CATS THE COMMANDER!!
