This is a solid catalog app; it’s fairly intuitive, and easier to use than some of the competitors. However, the customer service is woefully disappointing. If you’re planning on switching to CatalogIt from an existing system, you’ll want to reconsider. I registered with the service and needed assistance migrating my existing data. I was told that it would take a month or so, but knowing how service queues can work, I figured that would be ok. But six weeks later, I can’t get any one at CatalogIt to respond to my requests for timing updates. I’m very disappointed, and can’t recommend switching to this service from one of their competitors.
I’m the collections manager at a fine arts museum. I have moved from Past Perfect to CatalogIt for a couple of reasons. First, it is really convenient having our entire collection in my back pocket. Many times I have pulled up photos of a painting or sculpture during an off-site meeting. Second, I like the interface on my laptop. It’s intuitive and not nearly as clunky as other, similar apps. My only complaint is that CatalogIt on my phone freezes up occasionally and I have to delete the app and reinstall it.
Looking at recent reviews I was disappointed but decided to give the app a try. I’ve been using it for a few hours now cataloging my coins. Now I used an app called snupps but they went under and no longer have servers open so I’d need to find a app replacement fast that is similar to theirs. This is the app you can have multiple pictures and I love how you can add captions to the pics and descriptions separate. One thing I’d say is when cropping a picture in general sometimes it glitches the box u crop with and it goes away then u have to double tap to get it back. No biggie little problem I noticed. Next when cropping a picture for an extra photo u could say to have that’s not he cover photo I wish the final crop would keep the actual size instead of zooming in on it makes u have to guess and check the crop u r doing till u get it right. Other then great app I’m gonna be using it a lot I love it 5 stars
