I had the little card stock “recycling calendar” showing Blue and Yellow weeks inside my pantry for years, to remind myself of the correct recycling week. It I would usually double check the website for holiday weeks just to make sure I didn’t miss trash day. Then the recycling calendar ceased to exist, replaced by the printable paper calendar, but that is almost impossible to read with all the icons jammed into a little box. Saw the app and thought I would give it a try. Wow. After taking a whole 10 seconds to download and enter in my street address, this is way better. Now I get the handy notification at 6:00 pm the day before. I could never go back to the paper, and I’m glad. Great job, Cary! My tech town strikes again!

I love this app! Thank you town of cary for this initiative! It’s so helpful. We constantly forgot to put our bins out for trash day and our bins would be full and it was hard to get through the next week lol.. we started adding “trash day” as an event on our family calendar! This app not only tells me when my trash day is but I can set a push notification to remind me the night before! And I love the search feature to see what goes where, especially the different kinds of recycling. Love this app! Thank you!

I’ve kept the paper schedules and recycling items list hung on my fridge for years. Now I can finally ditch the paper and free up space on the fridge with this. I love the item search too. And the ability to submit missed trash pickups is great. I just wish it was a more streamlined form built right into the app instead of an external link.
