Give it its own alarm at top volume. Then figure out exactly what you would want to do if you knew that in one hour, the sun was going to knock out the global power grid and send you back to the Stone Age. I strongly recommend part of your one hour protocol, which would probably include collecting children from school, also include creating as much of an separation from the electric grid. The amperage that will come through your main panel will let your house on fire. This is a low frequency event, so it will not affect small circuitry the way that a nuclear triggered EMP would. However, it is unknown what natural EMP like energy will result as a function of such as solar Killshot. Everybody will have their own one hour drill. However, everybody’s time is up once you see the northern lights. And they will be spectacular. Hopefully the X 20 solar flare will not compromise your reception of this notification. That is more the function of what side of the planet is facing the sun. However, the next Carrington event will be a global event. Line of sight won’t matter. (Please note that you can prove it’s a globe by calling somebody on FaceTime in the southern hemisphere during a full moon. Theirs will be upside down.)

With the recent complete overhaul of the app, there is much more detail available in the charts (individually, on demand), and the space weather and health alerts have far more options. While the transition phase was a little rough (the old version understandably became buggy while the new was being developed), the app is now faster and more responsive than I ever remember it being before. I had an issue with the initial login, but a polite in-app email to the developer produced a very swift response with the issue being fixed manually for me, and an update inside of two days that sounds like it was targeted to fix the problem for everyone else. Very appreciative that the developer handover went so smoothly and kept the app alive for those of us who get so much benefit from it. Thanks!

I had been using the previous version of this application for three months and was satisfied with the presentation of the data. The update to the app dropped around Memorial Day of 2019 - WOW! It was spectacular - all the graphical data presented on the associated website is now also neatly shown herein, as well as some of the more relevant data shown in numerical format, the space weather risk situation is even more powerful and succinct, but perhaps the most exciting addition is the inclusion of the daily podcast videos seamlessly woven into the fabric of the application. Major step forward and major kudos to the development team.
