CanGoGo - Cute Walking Game

this app is my single greatest motivator for getting my steps in. unlocking those little drawings encourages me to get up and walk when I would normally just sit and doom scroll. 10/10, get the app. love the no ai use for the design as well.

I have had this app for a few months now, and it is everything that I want in a walking game. It is purely about your steps—no mini games or in-game currency, which I appreciate. The illustrations are cute, and they release new ones monthly. My biggest criticism was that the steps reset at midnight and sometimes I would miss opening my cans/getting my reward, but they have made a new feature that allows you to claim cans from the previous day. You can choose the look of your walking buddy, and it has charts for your step data. I love that it is a cute and simple app to reward my walking that won’t consume a bunch of my time. I tried games like Pokemon Go and Pikmin Bloom, but there was just too much extra stuff going on. I appreciate that there is a lifetime membership option, because I don’t like subscriptions. As far as I can tell, the only feature that I am missing is the ability to turn off in-game sounds, but otherwise I really love this app. :)

It’s a cute app, I really enjoy the aesthetic and I purchased the lifetime membership. But I’m busy with my job (which does unfortunately mean a lot of time sitting, working with delicate objects) and have a lot to juggle at home and can’t guarantee I’ll hit the minimum all the time. I just want a fun pedometer app, and this seemed like a good solution, but I’ve only unlocked animals a couple of times and I will probably move on to a different app because it’s not encouraging to miss the goal all the time. I don’t feel motivated by the forced 3k requirement—I just want to either be able to set my own minimum step count for cans, or go to a different app.
