Updated review: Originally, I had left a “negative” review based on the lack of communication from the dev for a problem I was running into with Family Sharing Plan. I received a very sincere reply from the developer with an apology for the lack of communication because he was on a break. I appreciate that and I’ve updated my rating to reflect that. As I mentioned, the app is very good and I am happy with it. ——— (Previous review.) I purchased this app as part of a bundle with a couple of other apps by the same developer. I have a family account with one additional family member and purchase sharing enabled. This app lists that it supports Family Sharing. At the time of purchase, while my wife had an Apple ID/account, she did not have an iPhone and was waiting to get one. When she got her phone and tried to install this app (and one other app which was part of the same bundle), the App Store indicated that it needed to be purchased. I contacted the developer of this app, to clarify if that should happen. No response.  I then contacted Apple. They were also unable to figure out why that was the case, and suggested that I get back to the developer. So I sent him a second email. No response again! Eventually, some more searching around yielded an answer and I was able to get the app installed. It's a decent app, but based on my (one-way) interaction with this dev, I cannot recommend it.

It has so many features that there’s bound to be a few you won’t even use or likely even notice they’re available as options. However, I personally didn’t need a boatload of special features in a calculator app; what I was looking for specifically was a calculator app that ⒈ offered a widget to use on the Home Screen for easy access for quick calculations, and ⒉ offered a widget that actually functions on its own as a fully functional calculator (like without having to open up the whole entire app just to do one quick calculation). Weirdly enough, this is one of the VERY few calc apps available on the App Store that actually does include a widget. Bonus, it’s a fully functioning widget too, just like I wanted! The only “con” per se is simply the fact that it’s a legacy widget and not one of the newer (and usually much prettier tbh) types of widgets that you can pretty much put anywhere you want on your Home Screen. This one remains stuck in the legacy widget area for now, but I’m hopeful that maybe one day Calzy will release an update that integrates the new type of widget! Other than the whole widget struggle, the app works great as a simple calculator and also offers several theme color choices and you can even customize the calculator keyboard if you want so that everything’s exactly where you like it. Thank you, Calzy team, for making the BEST calculator app that exists for the iPhone right now! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future for even more updates and hopefully a new widget hehe! 😉

Found the calculator that meets my needs, easy to use, and easy to access (as a widget on iPad). Its been a few months since I’ve gotten this app so I can’t remember if I paid anything for it or paid to get rid of any ads, but I can tell you that IF I did pay anything for it, it was completely worth it for what I get out of it. Since the iPad unfortunately doesn’t come with a calculator app, standard like the iPhone does, I checked out the AppStore and found two other ones that were horrible in contrast to this app. So if you are at that point where you’re trying to choose one, this is it. Last point I’ll make is actually the least important thing about any calculator and that is how this app is visually pleasing.
