Big Island Revealed Drive Tour

My wife and I have been using the “Revealed” books for our trips to Hawaii for years. We usually buy the most current edition each time we go, just to make sure that we’ve got the latest and greatest info. We found out about the app through the newest edition of the Big Island book and decided to give it a try. The app has been great to listen to as we drive throughout the island and we visited a few areas that we probably would not have known about otherwise. We enjoyed Andrew’s sense of humor along the way as well! The app is very useful without the book, but having both on hand is my recommendation if you want to be aware of all there is to see and do on the island.

First, this app is amazing and we ended up telling many we crossed paths with about it. That’s how much we liked it and drew value from the information provided and helped us make the most of our trip. We were given the Big Island & Kauai Revealed books, which are also excellent and I did my due-diligent read to help plan our trip to each Island. When I read about this app, nicely tucked into the About section of the books but not given any high pressure sales push, I decided to investigate. I knew I would become the navigator for my husband and could see potential frustration about missed turns and I didn’t want my nose in a book and missing out on seeing the scenery. This app really helped snd hit the spot. I found value in using the maps in the book at the same time to help with turns though. Sometimes they sneak up or may not look legit.

We purchased this APP as an add-on experience to the excellent Big Island Revealed Guidebook. The step-by-step narration is absolutely fantastic! We have enjoyed the Revealed book series, but the narration as we drove from place to place, gave an extra level of support—it’s like the author is right there with you in the car! We even used the APP during the back end of an around the Big Island tour when our guide drove us back to the hotel in the evening and there wasn’t much talking. We used headphones of course, and it was nice to continue to hear background information about the places we were traveling through (even when it was too dark to see everything at the time)—it just gave us motivation to go back during the day later in our trip!
