Bedtime Bible: Christian Sleep

I fight insomnia and bought this to help my busy mind focus elsewhere (God’s word!) so I can calm it to sleep. The app’s tempo and narration are great but I do have two complaints. Because it takes awhile to go to sleep, I have the number of chapters set at 17 (I know…that’s a lot…welcome to my world). But if a book of the Bible is short, it doesn’t move on to the next book. So, if I’m in Philippians, it’s not going to move on to Colossians etc. So I generally have to stay in OT. My other issue is that, once the predetermined chapters are read, there’s a female voice that comes on to recap the last chapter and say a prayer. The change of voice, more often than not, wakes me up…defeating the purpose. Super annoying. I wish there was a way to opt out of that feature. Since the app offer a noisemaker option for after the scripture reading and prayer, the app is obviously intended for sleeping. Maybe they will see this review and help with these issues. I will mention that I like to download and then go to airplane mode…so that’s something to consider for potentially tweaking app to get the correct # of chapters to download beyond one book at a time.

I tell EVERYONE about this app! It’s changed our lives forever bringing the word of God into our home in a profound way! Reading a chapter at a time, following that up with a review of the reading, & prayer before going into the sound of your choice giving us the best sleep EVER! It’s so powerful! I receive so much wisdom & clarity this way! Breaking down each chapter you receive so much more! Before I was up most the night unable to shut off my mom brain! Exhausted but unable to sleep, but not anymore! Plus the sound that plays after the reading & prayer blocks out my noisy neighbors allowing me to sleep peacefully through the night! Even my 14 year old son uses this app! Seeing the change in him there is no denying the power of Gods word! I still read my Bible during the day & pray on my own but this is a wonderful way to end each day & go to sleep peacefully! Thank you so much for making this app! It’s AMAZING!!

I love it this app. It’s a great way to unwind and reflect at night. It reads the Bible to you (chapter by chapter) and then plays soothing music or nature sounds (you choose) for you to fall asleep by. Before the music/nature sounds start, it does a short devotion reviewing what it read to you that night and then it leads you in a prayer. It’s like you have someone there praying for you. You choose what book of the Bible you want to listen to and how many chapters you want it to read to you each night. It automatically starts at Matthew but you can change it to any book. You can also return to any chapter or book that you want. It checks off the ones you’ve done so you can use it to track reading through the Bible. 👍🏻 It even sends you a little reminder notification (ding) on your phone when it’s time to go to bed to start your devotion. Impressive app!
