Banktivity – iPhone

I use this app to automatically get business credit card charges. Once you set it up each time you launch the app it downloads transactions from credit cards that you have it synced with. It’s very easy to review purchases every few days or so while you’re still able to remember what they were for. Come tax time all of my business related card purchases are up to date and I can print a summary for my CPA. I can’t imagine having to go back to manually downloading credit card info and tediously entering the info manually. It works, is a huge time saver and, for me, is a must have.

I've used iBank for Mac, iPhone and iPad for years and I was happy with the product. However, they have dropped the wifi sync in favor of cloud sync. They tell me it is too hard to maintain both sync functions and the cloud sync is safe. If we've learned nothing else from the Equifax experience, we should have learned that nothing in a cloud is truly safe, including your financial information. I don't buy the argument that it's too difficult to maintain both sync options. I've worked in the software field for more than 35 years as a developer and a software development manager, and I know it just isn't that hard; perhaps their developers just aren't that good. I'll be replacing this app on my mac, iPad and iPhone by the time I install iOS 11.

This Mac-based accounting system works really well, been using it for years. I recently placed my file in the cloud for free and can monitor and categorise expenses on my Mac, on my iPhone and my on daughter's iPhone. Reports and especially tax time is simpler, still spending more time in tax prep than I like but that is our US tax system of today. Highly recommend this package.
