ASL Kids - Sign Language

Hi! We absolutely love this app for our daughter. She is learning signs so fast and actually understanding them. We 100% recommend the app, but wanted to address a small issue. When she clicks on the quiz tab, our kid sees a screen with a video for a sign, and 3 answers it could be. It also says click the right answer, but when it is pressed, we can’t submit it and nothing happens. She can’t scroll down like on all the other tabs either. We appreciate you looking at this and hope this gets fixed soon! (Also, besides the quiz, this is a fantastic app and is super easy to understand! We love it and find it so helpful!)

Others have written about problems after they’ve purchased the expansion pack. $2.99 is a steal - I spend more on my morning coffee, so I took the chance. Initially it worked fine, but I have had problems with the app reverting back to just the basic signs. It can be fixed, but is a bit of a time waster. Just go to the info section where it was purchased and select restore purchase. Sometimes you have to force close the app and reopen and your whole pack will be back. Sometimes you have to force close, restore purchases, force close again, and reopen and they’re back. It’s a weird glitch. One time nothing I did was working to restore my expansion pack on my phone app, so I restarted my phone, and when I reopened the app it worked fine.Get that fixed and I’d give it 4 stars. Of course I would love more vocabulary! I’d be happy to pay for more. Maybe a couple phrases, too.I love that it’s kids that are signing, and I love that my 3 year old can operate the app on her own. She isn’t able to speak much, so she uses signs. She is doing a great job mimicking the kids. I wish these were deaf kids. It says they are children of deaf adults. That’s not the same thing. And some of the signs are not quite correct, especially because they’re not using facial expressions at all, which is a huge part of signing. I give the little kids a bit of a pass, but the older kids definitely should know to use facial expressions. Otherwise, this is a good app with great bones and the potential to be great. This is truly a beautiful app that is simple, kid friendly, very easy to learn and everything I ever hoped for in an app. Its even easy for adults to learn along with the kids. I hope ASL Kids can keep going because this app has lots of potential to be used at home, in school, at daycare, etc. My critique is if the developers can, update new material more often. My little brother is autistic and he lost interest after learning everything and having no new material to learn. This new update reignited his interest and he looks forward to learning more. I’ve recommended it to a friend and her kids love it. I highly recommend it. Thank you ASL Kids for existing, being awesome and I look forward to seeing you grow.
